Medical, Military, Scientific and Educational

For all Medical, Military, Scientific and Educational applications, the unique Philips algorithmic, 2D Plus Depth platform has major advantages over other 3D image approaches. The Depth Image Based Rendering, DIBR basis for the stereoscopic 3D to AS3D image conversion can be calibrated for scientific geo-spatial accuracy.

The parent to the R3D 2D Plus Depth ™ mapping technology is the Depth Image Based Rendering or DIBR methodology developed in the 1980’s at the Heinrich Hertz Institute in Germany. This scientifically established and researched PC driven vision rendering methodology is at the core of the R3D AS3D technology platform.

R3D IP has advanced this application as a mechanism for real time image intervention allowing the vidoegrapher, the post production editor and the home viewer, to have visual mastery over the depth elements of the 3D image.

This means that for the first time a 3D glasses free LCD image can be calibrated for “LIVE” precision depiction of all digital capture sensing arrays which are math based. This opens the doors to utilizing off the shelf digital imaging technologies such as lidar, radar, sonar, infra red, X-ray, MRI, C-Scan, and ultra sound as real time live 3D image sources. Because they are math based, the interpolation of their data can be instantly translated into 3D real time video images. Consequently the core Rembrandt 3D AS3D platform is currently the only technology which supports Educational, Scientific, Industrial, Military, Medical, Robotics, Surveillance and Security market verticals.

For Scientific modeling a group of Rendering Plug Ins are available, such as 3D Studio Max, Maya and others.
